"Tell me I can't & I'll show you I can" - Alyssa
Texas resident and Para-Dressage rider, Alyssa Cleland is the definition of determination and will power. Adopted from Ukraine, she grew up in Southern California with her family. After being diagnosed with Paraxial Tibial Hemimelia – a rare congenital condition – she had her right leg amputated above the knee at the age of 4. From being a Professional Paralympic Volleyball player, to now doing Para-Dressage, there’s nothing she can’t do.
Alyssa is a Grade V Para-Dressage rider and trains full time in the Dallas, Texas area. She has been paired with Tjitte, a stunning black Friesian, until she can lease or own a horse. She has been working diligently on upper level movements such as flying changes, passage, piaffe and much more with the goal to start competing in abled bodied and para shows in the near future.
